The Beginning

The company was started by three siblings, pictured above Joree (left), Weston (center), and Ragan (right), in late 2016. As with many businesses, deciding on a name was bit of a challenge. After thinking about we realized that we had always enjoyed spending time near Icehouse Creek. We enjoyed the beauty of the area and the time we spent together so we decided on Icehouse Signs. 

We ran the business as a side hustle together until the summer of 2019. Then Ragan and Joree decided that to focus more on their families and other pursuits and so I (Weston) took the business on as a part time job through the end of 2019.

The Pandemic

I started running the business full time at the beginning of 2020. The business wasn't quite big enough to truly keep me busy full time but I figured I would give it a few months to see if I could grow the company. Little did I know that the pandemic would hit a few months into 2020 which forced people to stay home and look for new decorations. Orders picked up in hurry and there was not enough hours in a day to get everything done. 

I went from mostly selling signs to mostly selling art hangers during the pandemic so I decided to change the name of the business to Icehouse Woodwork & Design to better reflect our products going forward.

My wife and I moved houses in the summer of 2020 and subsequently the shop moved with us. After having lots of help from family and friends we hired our first official employee at the end of 2020.

The Present

We have since hired more employees and introduced new product lines. We are always looking for ways to meet our customers needs. Please let us know how we can best serve you!
